This whole week we've had rainstorms and it's been so dark outside. I tell you I am so ready for spring! Meanwhile I've been listing new post cards in my shop. These feature cute motifs and adorable mice and the much loved unicorn by German designer/illustrator Kristina Marquardt. Sending a post card to a friend doesn't require a special occasion imho. I, for one, love receiving and sending happy mail. Check out these fun designs. Which one is your favorite?

Hier stürmt und regnet es seit Tagen und es ist so dunkel draußen. Frühling, wo bleibst du? Dafür geht es bei Duni's Studio bunt zu! Einige hübsche neue Postkarten sind in den Shop gewandert. Es gibt neue Motive, z.b. das allseits beliebte Einhorn aber auch die entzückenden Mäuse sind wieder mit dabei. Ich finde es erfordert keinen besonderen Anlass einem lieben Menschen eine Postkarte zu schicken. Ich für meinen Teil liebe es fröhliche Postkarten zu verschicken und freue mich immer sehr wenn ich selbst eine bekomme. Welche davon ist euer Favorit?

While sewing enthusiasts in USA / Australia / Japan can get their hands on almost all of the popular roseprint fabrics by Tanya Whelan for FreeSpirit, it's not so easy over here in Germany. In fact, if I may say so, my little fabric shoppe is considered somewhat of an insider tip as I carry a large range of these fabrics, some of them exclusive to my shop! 

Since I get a lot of inquires about which of Tanya's collections I carry, I thought I'd give you a run down for your easy reference. Please note some of these collections go way back and aren't re-produced, which means that once the fabrics are sold off there is absolutely no way to re-order them. Generally, fabric collections have a three season run.

Nähfreunde, die in USA / Australien / Japan leben haben es leicht an die beliebten Stoffkollektionen von Tanya Whelan / FreeSpirit zu kommen. In Deutschland ist das schon schwieriger, da nicht alle nach Europa eingeführt werden. Ich war von Anfang an dabei als die ersten Rosenstoffe der Designerin auf den Markt kamen, und ich bin nach wie vor immer noch begeistert. In meinem kleinen, doch feinen Stoffladen führe ich fast alle Tanya Whelan Stoffe, und dank meiner USA Kontakte einige davon sogar exklusiv! 

Da ich immer wieder nach den Rosenstoffen von T. Whelan gefragt werde, möchte ich hier einmal festhalten welche der Kollektionen aktuell im Lädchen zu bekommen sind und eine Vorschau was nächsten Monat kommt. In der Regel laufen diese Kollektion über drei Saisons und können in dieser Zeitspanne nachbestellt werden, aber bitte beachtet, dass einige dieser Stoffe aus älteren Kollektionen stammen, und daher nur noch begrenzt verfügbar sind.

1. Valentine Rose

This special edition features hearts, cameos, stripes and, of course, roses in a cheerful red and white combo. I currently have 5 SKUs (patterns) available. These look lovely as alternative Christmas fabrics :)

4. + 9. Rosey

I carry this collection exclusively. Currently there are 3 pretty fabrics left: cherry blossoms, pink roses on green with polkadots and a pretty paisley. Hurry!

5. Barefoot Roses

This is an older collection which was re-produced due to its popularity! These fabrics were best sellers in my shop, but I still have 4 SKUs available - rosebouquet on green with matching stripes, dots and cameos!

Eine ältere, aber durchaus beliebte Kollektion, die aufgrund ihrer Popularität nachproduziert wurde. Bei mir im Laden sind die Stoffe beinahe ausverkauft. Aktuell gibt es den grünen Rosenstoff und dazu die passenden Streifen in grün, zartgrüne Steifen mit Röschen sowie Streifen / Punkte in der pinkfarbenen Variation.

6. Sunshine Rose

I was one of the first to carry this collection, but funnily it only picked up a few months later. However, I'm practically sold out now, but I do still have at least six pretty pastel pink and green fabrics to choose from :)

Ich war eine der ersten, die diese Kollektion bekommen hatte, jedoch fand sie zunächst nicht so viel Anklang. Ein paar Monate später konnten meine KundInnen nicht genug davon bekommen :) Daher ist sie beinahe ausverkauft. Sechs pastellige Stöffchen sind aber noch zu haben!

7. Delilah

This was Tanya's second collection and hugely popular! It's been sold out for years, but I have two remaining rose prints in fresh blue and white available (while stocks last).

Petal features slightly modern prints in palest blue, baby pink, taupe and white. It's one of the most sought after collections and thus I'm sold out, except for the pale blue - I currently have four prints left!

Preview [ Spring Summer Fabrics ]

My head is still buzzing from all the fabric gorgeousness I saw...and touched at the recent trade fair. I might even have swooned a bit ;-) And today I'd like to give you a sneak peek of super pretty fabrics coming to my shop this spring through summer!

In my capacity as buyer it really is not easy narrowing down the choice to fit  my budget, my quality requirements and the concept of my store. I never go to such events without preparing at least two weeks in advance. Also, I really listen to my customers and take their requirements into account too.

Stoffe, Stoffe und noch mehr Stoffe gab es auf der Fachmesse von neulich zu bewundern. Und heute gibt's eine kleine Vorschau von den wunderschönen Stöffchen, die im Frühjahr und Sommer in mein Lädchen wandern!

In meiner Kapazität als Einkäufer ist es nicht immer einfach die Wahl entsprechend meines Budgets, meines Qualitätsanspruchs und Ladenkonzeptes einzugrenzen. Deshalb gehe ich auch nie unvorbereitet zu solchen Messen und berücksichtige außerdem die Wünsche meiner Kunden. Das ist mir nämlich sehr wichtig. Nachfolgend eine Auswahl an frischen Patchworkstoffen von Art Gallery!

Art Gallery's byline reads "feel the difference" and it's true. As far as designer patchwork fabrics go these are lightweight and have a silky smooth touch. Traditionally used for quilts these also make fun children's clothes and cute accessories. Personally I can't wait to sew a floaty top with one of the above prints. These amazingly soft and stretchy knits are brand new in the shop. A mix of graphic and floral prints in contemporary colors, they are sure to delight sewists everywhere who endeavour to update their wardrobe with a pretty shirt or two. The knit fabric in the lower right corner is certified organic and features the ever popular dandelion print in white with pops of citron, black and gray on classic navy. This fabric is going fast!

Ein paar wunderbar weiche, stretchige Jerseys mit sowohl grafischen als auch floralen Drucken in modernen Farbgebungen sind ganz neu im Shop. Mit einer Breite von ca 150 cm eignen sie sich perfekt für das Nähen von Bekleidung. Der tolle Interlock mit den Pusteblumen in Weiß auf Navy unten rechts in der Collage ist Bio Jersey. Dieser Stoff ist bei NäherInnen sehr beliebt!

I was told by many people that I wouldn't be able to get Tanya Whelan's new S/S collection "Zoey's Garden" to Germany. Ha, little did these people know just how determined I am. Admittedly it took several calls, even to the US!, and a lot of persuasion, but eventually I found a supplier willing to ship several bolts of these to me :) Coming in April.

Zoey's Garden is a sweet and whimsical collection with cute birdies, butterflies, cottage roses, pretty florals and stripes with Tanya's typical nostalgic touch. Comes in pastel blue, pink and green colorways. It's perfect for shabby chic accessories and girl's room decor. Or try this free quilt pattern from Free Spirit.

Von vielen Kollegen habe ich gehört, dass die "Zoey's Garden Kollektion" von Tanya Whelan nicht nach Deutschland eingeführt wird. Aber davon habe ich mich nicht entmutigen lassen! Denn diese Kollektion ist bezaubernd und passt einfach perfekt in mein Shop Konzept. Die musste ich haben! Es war nicht leicht, und es hat drei Monate gedauert, aber nun freue ich mich, dass diese wunderschöne Kollektion schon nächsten Monat geliefert wird!

Zoey's Garden ist eine frühlingsfrische Kollektion mit nostalgischem Charme. Vögelchen, Schmetterlinge, blühende Rosen und kleine Blumensträußchen, hübsche Streifen - alles in den Farben Pastellblau, Rosa und Grün aufeinander abgestimmt. Da schlägt das Shabby Chic Herz höher!

Finally, this beautiful canvas with big roses is the fabric that is featured in this home decoration book I recently wrote about. Many of my customers have been asking for this, but I'm afraid it's completely sold out! I've contacted my Japanese supplier and they are searching their warehouse, but I wouldn't hold my breath, as it's from two seasons ago. However, I have sourced a very similar canvas and am waiting to here back! Fingers crossed :)

Dieser traumhaft schöne Rosendruck in Canvas- Qualität ist der Stoff, der in dem Sommerbuch von Claudia Mareth auf der Titelseite abgebildet ist. Viele Kunden haben seit Erscheinung des Buches danach gefragt, aber leider ist er restlos ausverkauft. In der Zwischenzeit habe ich mit dem japanischen Hersteller Kontakt aufgenommen in der Hoffnung Reststücke zu ergattern. Eventuell gibt es einen sehr ähnlichen Stoff in der gleichen Qualität. Ich hoffe, dass ich bald mehr Info dazu habe :)

There's lots of lovely prints ranging from nostalgic roses to retro seed ads (red and pale aqua version) as well as pin dots, strawberries and plaids! The trend this season is soft grey, pink, red and aqua. These fabrics are all 100% cotton in premium quality and a quilter's dream!

Exciting news! I was at a private Spring 2016 fabric preview last week and Lecien is bringing back the enormously popular "Princess Rose". Even more exciting...I will be getting three sweet rose prints from this collection in pastel pink, blue and lavender as early as December of this year. Stay tuned!

Tolle Neuigkeit, die ich letzte Woche bei einer privaten Frühjahr 2016 Vorschau erfahren habe: nach circa fünf Jahren wird die super beliebte "Princess Rose" Kollektion nochmal nachproduziert! Shop News!

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned I would be adding a limited edition of rose-themed jewelry to my Peridot line. For the longest time I deliberated upon the designs, but finally came up with what you see below. This collection comprises dainty rose posts that come in sets of three and rose pendant necklaces. That's it! I might add a few different colours that go with the clothing :) The components are .925 sterling silver, while the earring backs are surgical steel (titanium).

Vor einigen Wochen hatte ich erwähnt, dass ich meine Peridot Linie um eine kleine Schmuckkollektion in  limitierter Auflage erweitere. Nach langer Überlegung sind nun Sets mit Rosenohrsteckern und zarte Silberkettchen mit Rosenanhänger entstanden. Alle Stücke sind von mir handgefertigt und bestehen aus 925er Sterling Silber bzw. Chirurgenstahl (Ohrstecker). Eventuell nehme ich noch weitere Farben ins Program, aber ansonsten bleibt es bei dieser Auswahl.

*Note - the solid silver arrow bracelet is a one-off! I had some cable link chain left and it would've been a shame not to make use of it!

*Anm. - das Silberarmband mit Pfeil ist ein Einzelstück! Ich hatte noch etwas von der Silberkette übrig - gerade genug, um daraus noch ein Teilchen zu fertigen!

I know that most of my readers associate me with florals, pastels and girly things - and you're spot on! I simply love it, however, there is a part of me that also likes graphic art, stark contrasts and repetitive patterns found in nature...and in respect thereof I've found another creative outlet on my newest selling site Society6. Never gets boring over here :)

Ich bin mir durchaus bewusst, dass die meisten meiner Leser mich mit Blümchen, Pastellfarben und Girly Dinge assoziieren. Es stimmt, ich liebe solche Dinge einfach! Dennoch mag ich auch gerne starke Kontraste und repetierende Muster, welche man z.B. in der Natur findet. In meinem vor kurzem eröffneten Webshop auf der Verkaufsplattform Society6 biete ich nun eine Auswahl meiner digitalen Fotos als Druck, Leinwand, Kissen u.v.m an! Hier wird's nie langweilig :)

Für alle NäherInnen unter Euch habe ich etwas ganz Besonderes! In Kürze erhalte ich eine super süße Kollektion bestehend aus fünf Retro-Stoffen in Rot (siehe oben). Sehr hübsch für Platzsets, Tischläufer, Schürzen, Topflappen und...und...und. Ich kann's selber kaum erwarten diese in den Händen zu halten. Tausend Ideen schwirren schon in meinem Kopf herum! Was ich daraus machen werde zeige ich Euch in einem späteren Post :)

Thinking even further ahead :) I chose some charming pastel roseprints for springtime! In the sewing world it's important to plan and make items in advance! If you're into soft, shabby chic style then you will certainly love these! They come in a blue, pink and green colorway.

Vielleicht mag es dem einen oder anderen Leser zu früh sein, doch ich denke - was die Stoffkollektionen betrifft - jetzt schon an Stoffe für das Frühjahr 2014 :) So habe ich mich für diese charmanten, pastellfarbenen Rosendrucke entschieden! Wer den romantischen Shabby Chic-Stil mag, wird diese Kollektion ganz sicher lieben! Die Stoffe mit verschiedenen Rosenmotiven und Vichykaros gibt es in einer zartblauen, zartrosa und zartgrünen Farbgebung.
