Beautiful lilacs

Many thanks to Mary for including my organic cotton sleepmask in this lovely Etsy treasury. The lilacs and lavenders are very calming to look at - especially after having just finished my sewing frenzy...

Happy Sunday!

Everything Etsy :)

So I figured out what was wrong with my FB widget, as judging by the comments to my previous post it only affected me. Turns out that it only works when I'm logged in as my profile - as soon as I log in as my page the widget goes blank. Whatever.

Etsy is being really, really good to me. What can I say? Ich liebe Etsy - that's I love Etsy in German. An assortment of my products have been included in five more treasuries - I'm not going to list all of them here - just my favourite one by MySuperSweetBoutique.

My French Knickers are in the second row, far left. Also, I listed some sleepmasks, including this lovely Vintage inspired birdy one - and it's the last one! Hurry, if you want it. Remember - I reduced international shipping to only USD 6,- on small items.

Up next - A giveaway! Stay tuned to find out more soon...

cheers,

My first sale on Etsy

Yes, okay. I'm not exactly new to selling, but I'm so excited to have had my first sale on Etsy (my new selling venue) I just had to share. What a great thing to wake up to on a rainy Monday morning :)

And not to bore you with yet another treasury...but the item I sold was recently featured in this chocolate, lavender and blue treasury curated by bluebirdheaven.

Can you spot my item?

wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!

Love sleep masks, love polka dots

handmade sleepmasks by Peridot by Duni on Etsy

Sales of my sleep masks have been going well both on and off-line. I made a couple more in my favourite polka dot fabrics to stock up my Etsy shop. Look out for more designs to come!

On a different topic - well, I finally managed to add a facebook 'like' box (see right side), except whenever I go off-line, the box displays 'profile not visible', which sort of defeats the purpose! I have seen this on a couple other blogs too and there are a number of people complaining about this in the help section on FB, but I could not find an appropriate answer or solution so far. So, if my 'like' box is invisible to you, but you would still like to 'like' my page on FB (that's a lot of likes in one sentence) AND get a chance at winning a handmade shoulder bag this summer you can find me here.

Happy Friday!

Colour therapy

The week started off with temperatures of -6°C (approx. 21°F), then we had two days of light snow followed by heavy rain and gales. Doesn't sound much like spring to me. So here's a blast of colour for all those in need of 'colour therapy' like me...

Cute sleep masks

My sleep masks are a popular item in my shop. I now offer them as a set with a matching dried lavender-filled heart! Place it near your pillow and you'll sleep like a baby. Sweet dreams guaranteed ;-)

New make up bag and other stuff :)

Dawanda, my selling venue, informed me via email this morning that they have revamped the products page. I immediately went and checked. The images are definitely larger now and so is the text - thanks Dawanda, for being so considerate towards us myopic people :) The whole page looks a bit more pulled together and all relevant icons are clearly visible. Great job. Just one thing - when you click on one of my products there's a banner that says my product is 'customizable'. Well, it is to an extent, but when there's only one of it, what you see is what you get.
Meanwhile, all my sleep masks have been sold, but one (see image). I'm trying hard to sew some more, but with my arm/wrist/hand in constant pain it's easier said than done! I have finished another make up bag using a print that may be familiar to you now; this one's in pink/cream. The trim that embellishes the front pocket is called 'Sakura' and is a limited edition!

This'n'that

Hello everyone!

It's been a busy week, and it's not over yet. Still haven't figured out what is causing my arm/leg pains; I'm hoping my appointment with the rheumatologist will throw some light on the matter.

Meanwhile, I've sold all of my pink sleepmasks. I just had enough time to sew and list two new ones in white/turquoise and white/blue/green.

The rest of my spare time I've been planning my very first tutorial for this blog! I'll be showing you how to make a three-tiered lavender-filled cushion! I hope I'm all done with sewing, taking pictures and posting it by this weekend. So watch this space...

Cute little sleep masks

Ladies, do you remember your first pyjama party? Oh, the joy of staying up late, watching movies, eating pizza, giggling a lot, and then finally falling asleep at one in the morning... Nowadays, the little girls have much more sophisticated parties; I'm not even sure if they do pyjama parties anymore?! But wouldn't these sleep masks make cute little party favors? Again, I've made them from left-over fabric, and there was just enough left to include a little drawstring pouch to store them in when not in use. I've embellished the pouch with a tiny gold heart for added cuteness! The sleep mask is padded with high-volume interfacing for softness, and I've made sure that the elastic is non-abrasive and fits comfortably, without being too tight. Great for in-flight use too! I wear mine at home when I feel one of my legendary migraine headaches coming on... As an aside, I wasn't able to open my windows this morning, because of the 20 cm layer of snow that had settled there overnight. This is so unusual for this area. Lucky for the kids, school only starts on the 7th - I've already seen them making snowmen!

Cute Sleep Mask

I remember the days of sleep-overs and pyjama parties fondly...whole evenings spent trying on new eyeshadow, glittery nail polish, braiding each other's hair - simple activities which provided endless fun to an eleven year old.  Now, two decades later when I have an overseas friend staying overnight, instead of putting a bedtime sweet on their pillow, I surprise them with a sleep mask! This one's adapted from the book Sew Pretty by Tone Finnanger. It's a nice gesture and they can later use them on the plane too - definitely more stylish than the synthetic ones you get from the airline. Don't you agree?
