It's time for another round of MM. I'm pretty proud of the fact that I've been curating these boards consistently every Monday for four years! And the stats prove they are popular with my lovely readers too :) Today I chose a minimalist black and white theme. Enjoy!

Mint & Black

...was the theme of my birthday two weeks ago.You might remember last year's theme was pink.

...war das Farbthema an meinem Geburtstag vor zwei Wochen. Im Jahr zuvor was es Rosa.

These were very tasty! I ordered them from Maison Macaron, who make each order from scratch.

Diese waren köstlich! Ich habe sie von Maison Macaron bestellt. Jede Bestellung wird frisch hergestellt.

I made a batch of fairy cakes. It's a smaller version of a cup cake with a lighter topping, in this case lemon cream. Yum!

Gebacken habe ich Fairy Cakes - wie Cupcakes, nur kleiner und mit einem leichteren Topping, in diesem Fall Zitronencreme. Lecker!

My mother's vintage 60s satin bag - isn't it gorgeous?

And I finally got to wear my lovely black rose embellished shoes!

Und endlich hatte ich Gelegenheit meine traumhaft schönen mit schwarzen Rosen verzierten Schuhe zu tragen!

I finally got my hair straight-ish... ;-)

endlich einigermaßen glatte Haare gestylt... ;-)

Black & White Prints

I received some exciting (well, for me) black and white prints the other day. The cute paw prints had my animal lover's heart fluttering, and they reminded me of a certain resident cat ;-)
These fabrics are premium cotton suitable for all types of sewing and patchwork projects. I don't normally go for such strongly contrasting prints, however these are small-scale and don't overwhelm. I can think of a number of things to make with them: notebook cover, cat or dog bed or how about a set of fabric ties for a band?

Ich habe die Tage neue Stoffe erhalten. In den "Pfötchenstoff" habe ich mich sofort verliebt...vielleicht weil er mich an einen ganz bestimmten schwarz-weißen Kater erinnert?
Diese Stoffe sind alle aus reiner Baumwolle und für alle Näh- und Patchworkprojekte geeignet. Dies sind mal zur Abwechslung kleingemusterte Drucke. In meinem Kopf schwirren schon eine Menge Ideen, z.B. Notebook Hülle, Katzen- oder Hundekissen oder vielleicht für eine Musikgruppe ein Krawattenset für den nächsten Auftritt... ;-)

Just in case you thought all of my dishes were colourful and floral...

Bei mir zuhause gibt's nicht nur bunte Blümchenmuster...

 

These funky espresso cups with newspaper print are over ten years old ~ a gift from a friend. Don't you just love the kitty on the postcard? The black beret and the black and white striped "sweater" are too cute! Sammy would never allow it ;-)

Diese witzigen Espresso Tassen mit dem Zeitungsdruck sind über zehn Jahre alt ~ ein Geschenk von lieben Freunden. Die Postkarte mit der Katze musste mit ins Bild - die finde ich ja so niedlich mit der schwarzen Baskenmütze und dem schwarz-weiß gestreiften Pulli! Sammy würde sich das niemals gefallen lassen ;-)

If you are wondering what these little balls are...they are in fact rolled tea leaves called Dragon Pearls. Just thought they looked nice in the small white scalloped dish!

Die kleinen Bällchen sind keine Pfefferkörner...das sind gerollte Teeblätter, genannt Dragon Pearls. Ein schöner Kontrast zu dem weißen Muffinförmchen!

Last but not least, my snow white pajama set has been included in this aptly named black and white Etsy treasury curated by the talented Pam of Bates Mercantile Co. I appreciate it very much, thank you Pam!

Zuletzt noch eine Etsy Collage mit einem passenden Titel zu diesem Post. Pamela von Bates Mercantile Co hat sie zusammengestellt und mein schneeweißes Pyjama Set darin aufgenommen. Ich finde es großartig, Dankeschön Pam!

OP ART Shoulder Bag

As promised here is the finished bag! It's inspired by the black and white optical art popular in the 60's. The interesting thing about this bag is that the leather bag straps, which I cut by hand, are an integral part of the design.The leather is repurposed from a skirt/suit ensemble.

Here shown on my lovely 'Miss Audrey'. 

 The bag is fully lined with a black/white polka dot cotton and includes an interior zip pocket and mobile phone pocket. It has a magnetic snap closure underneath the flap.
