I've been enjoying the poppies blooming in the garden. The bright red pops of colour look so cheerful against the backdrop of green. I found some wonderful poppy red items on Etsy - hope you like my picks! p.s. poppy red is also one of the Pantone trend colours for 2013

Wenn der Klatschmohn im Garten blüht bedeutet das für mich "Sommer", auch wenn die Temperaturen nicht wirklich mitspielen. Die fröhlichen roten Farbtupfer zwischen dem frischen Grün machen einfach gute Laune! Meine heutige Collage ist dieser prächtigen Farbe gewidmet - (Englisch: poppy red, welche auch zu den ausgewählten Pantone Trendfarben 2013 gehört )

It might look like spring out there with all the trees sprouting fresh green leaves, but with temperatures in the low 40s in the early mornings it sure doesn't feel like it - those comfy green leg warmers wouldn't go amiss right now! Hope you enjoy my spring green- inspired moodboard :)

The first ring that I owned had a beautiful oval amethyst set in hammered silver. I still have it, but over the years the silver has become quite tarnished...one of these days I need to polish it back to its former glory! Amethyst is the theme of my moodboard today, which is also the February birthstone. Enjoy!

Erinnert Ihr Euch noch an Euren ersten Ring? Meiner ist ein wunderschöner ovaler Amethyst in einer gehämmerten Silberfassung. Da ich ihn lange nicht getragen habe ist er ziemlich angelaufen und bedarf einer gründlichen Politur! Der Amethyst ist eine Varietät des Quarzes und ist aufgrund der tief-violetten Farbe sehr beliebt - auch im Handmade-Bereich wie man sieht:

Well, the snow of last week has all melted - not that I'm complaining. This past week has been super busy filling orders in my fabric shoppe and working on a new sewing technique (more on that later), so unfortunately I didn't get to do my daily blog round, but I hope to catch up with everybody again soon.
Meanwhile here's my winter blue moodboard for you today!

Der Schnee von letzter Woche ist nun endgültig geschmolzen bei den momentan milden Temperaturen. Nicht, dass ich mich beschwere. In der letzten Woche war ordentlich was los im Stofflädchen und ich habe oft bis in die späten Stunden geschnippelt und eingepackt...daher bin ich auch leider nicht zu meiner täglichen Blogrunde/zum Kommentieren gekommen - aber ich hoffe, dass ich das bald nachholen kann. Only one more week of work, and then I'm off on holiday! I can't wait. I feel like I've been working non-stop since beginning of this year. While browsing Etsy I came across these lovely handmade "fishy" items...Enjoy!

The month of May traditionally kicks off the wedding season. Recently Etsy has introduced a registry - a smart move as an increasing number of young couples opt for a handmade wedding! My moodboard today is wedding inspired, featuring a few handmade items from European Etsy sellers. The necklace would make a sweet bridesmaid gift and I would have loved for my bridesmaids to have worn that pretty floral dress - alas at that time I didn't know about Etsy yet!

Mit dem Monat Mai beginnt traditionell die Hochzeitssaison! Und das ist auch das heutige Thema hier auf meinem Moodboard. Seit neuestem können sich zukünftige Ehepaare bei Etsy anmelden und eine "Handmade Wunschliste" ausfüllen - die Hochzeitsgäste können diese dann einsehen und aussuchen, welche Wünsche sie für das Hochzeitspaar erfüllen möchten...hätte ich damals gewusst, dass es Etsy gibt, hätte ich das bestimmt auch so gemacht :)

Hi everybody!    Hallo Mädels!

it's unbelievable, but in other parts of Germany people are enjoying 30°C (about 86°F) sunny weather, while I'm  shivering in my cardigan!

Unglaublich, aber wahr - in anderen Teilen Deutschlands geniessen die Menschen sommerliches Wetter bei 30°C während ich immer noch zwei Lagen trage!
