Last minute DIY Xmas Wreath TUTORIAL

This is an easy project that would be fun to do together with your kids!

Dies ist ein einfaches Projekt, welches durchaus mit den Kindern gemeinsam gemacht werden kann!

What you need / Was man braucht

long green strip of fabric, enough to cover the wreath (from craft store)
langer grüner Stoffstreifen, genug um den Rohling (Baumarkt, Handarbeitsladen) vollständig einzuwickeln
fabric scraps in coordinating colours
Stoffreste in weihnachtlichen Farben
wire garland (mine has red beads and golden stars)
Drahtgirlande (meine hat rote Perlen und goldene Sterne)
ribbon
Bänder
pinking shears
Zackenschere
glue-gun (only to be used by the grown ups!)
Heißklebepistole (Umgang bitte nur die Erwachsenen!)

 

Step 1 / Schritt 1

Cover the entire wreath with the heated glue from the glue-gun (this is the part for the grown-ups). Wrap the green fabric strip around it covering completely. Let dry for a few minutes.

Den Heißkleber gut auf dem Rohling verteilen (bitte nur die Erwachsenen). Den grünen Stoffstreifen diagonal um den ganzen Rohling wickeln, bis er komplett bedeckt ist. Ein paar Minuten trocknen lassen.

Step 2 / Schritt 2

Wind the wire garland around the entire wreath.

Die Drahtgirlande ebenfalls um den ganzen Kranz wickeln.

Step 3 / Schritt 3

With pinking shears cut strips from fabric scraps and tie a knot in the middle to make "bows".

Apply a little glue on the back and secure to the wreath. You can make as many bows as you wish. Leave to dry a few minutes.

Mit der Zackenschere kleine Streifen von den Stoffresten schneiden. Mittig verknoten, so dass eine Art "Schleife" entsteht. Etwas Heißkleber auf die Rückseite auftragen und fest an den Kranz anbringen. So viele Schleifen machen, wie gewünscht. Ein paar Minuten trocknen lassen.

Step 4 / Schritt 4

Tie a ribbon to the top middle of the fabric covered wreath. Attach a bow and some extra ribbon to finish!

Oben mittig ein Aufhängeband anbringen. Zusätzlich mit einer Schleife verzieren!

And now it's ready to hang in your favourite place for all to admire :)

Und nun kann er dort aufgehängt werden, wo ihn alle bewundern können :)

Sweet and Simple holiday wreath

There's nothing like a brisk walk - then curling up on the sofa with a pile of magazines and a pot of tea - to get the creative juices flowing again. Here's a simple idea you can make to add some holiday cheer to your home! You will need: scraps of fabric - a red theme looks good natural wreath (mine is a small one) ribbon brad (optional) Polyfill stuffing sewing machine, thread, needle sharp fabric scissors hot glue gun piece of cardboard How to: Draw a heart about 7.5 x 9 cm (3 x 3.5 '') on to a piece of thin cardboard. Cut it out. Fold your pieces of fabric in half. Then draw the heart shape on to the fabric. The larger the wreath, the more hearts you will need. I made five. Sew around the heart shape, leaving a small opening for turning. Cut out with sharp scissors leaving a narrow seam. Turn carefully and iron lightly. Proceed in exactly the same way with the rest of the hearts. Begin stuffing them by filling out the pointed tip first. Continue until you have a soft (not overstuffed) shape. Close the opening by hand. Tie your choice of ribbon to the wreath. You may add embellishments if you wish. Then, with your glue gun stick on the hearts all around the circumference of the wreath. Once dry you can hang it up in your favourite place!
