What to pack for a weekend in Paris

In two weeks we're off to Paris and I would be lying if I said I haven't yet thought of what to pack! Luckily, I prefer to travel light and for this whirlwind trip of only 2 days I'll just be taking my carry-on. I realize that my photo gear will probably take up most of the space and since there's a weight limit for hand luggage I need to choose clothing wisely. The weather can be all over the place in May, but that's where my short black, smart yet functional Trench coat comes in handy. And we all know Parisians love to wear black! My typical travel outfit consists of a striped long-sleeved T-shirt paired with straight blue jeans, black sneakers plus a scarf (I never go without). Of course, after the dangle earring disaster from years ago I only ever where studs now :) A gold watch adds a nice finishing touch. A few years ago my mother gave me her delicate vintage one. Thanks, Mom!

In zwei Wochen geht es nach Paris, und natürlich habe ich schon überlegt was ich an Bekleidung mitnehme! Generell bevorzuge ich es mit leichtem Gepäck zu reisen und für diese Kurzreise wird mein Handgepäck ausreichen müssen. Meine Fotoausrüstung wird wahrscheinlich den größten Teil einnehmen, und da ja noch das Gewicht zu beachten ist, muss ich meine Kleidungsstücke mit Bedacht wählen. Das Wetter im Mai ist of wechselhaft, aber dafür habe ich ja meinen schwarzen Kurztrench. Und wie wir ja alle wissen tragen die Frauen in Paris gerne schwarz!

Mein typisches Reise-Outfit besteht aus einem gestreiften langärmeligen T-Shirt gepaart mit geraden Jeans, schwarzen Turnschuhen und einem Schal (Ich verreise nie ohne). Nach der Ohrring-Katastrophe von vor Jahren trage ich beim Reisen nur noch Ohrstecker :) Eine hübsche Uhr rundet das Ensemble schick ab. Ich trage eine schmale Vintage Uhr, die mir meine Mutter vor ein paar Jahren gegeben hat.

Then, for a casual night out at a wine bar I would opt for skinny black jeans paired with a cute print top and a bold statement necklace. A black envelope clutch and black ballerina flats complete the outfit. If it get's chilly I can always throw on the Trench. The items shown here are all relatively crease resistant and don't take up much space in the hand luggage. Now, I wouldn't actually bring along the nailpolish (carry-on restrictions on liquids) I'd simply do my nails before the trip.

Das zweite Outfit ist das "Ausgeh-Outfit", z.B. in ein nettes Weinlokal. Hier kombiniere ich schwarze Skinny Jeans mit einem Print Oberteil und Statementkette. Dazu eine schwarze Clutch und schwarze Ballerinas. Den Trench nehme ich vorsichtshalber mit, falls es abends kühl wird. Die hier gezeigten Artikel sind alle relativ knitterarm und nehmen nicht viel Platz im Handgepäck ein. Wegen der Flüssigkeitsbeschränkung nehme ich den Nagellack natürlich nicht mit, sondern lackiere mir kurz vor der Abreise die Nägel.
