This month's birthstone is Peridot, a pretty gemstone that comes in fresh lime green, olive or bottle green and can look anything from subtle to dramatic. Although I prefer it with silver it looks great with gold too! Enjoy :)

Der Peridot ist der Geburtsstein für diesen Monat und erinnert mit seinen frischen Grüntönen an eine Sommerwiese. Die Töne reichen von leuchtend Limettengrün bis gedecktem Flaschengrün. Ich wünsche euch allen einen guten Start in die neue Woche!

Some of my regular readers may have noticed that I haven't been blogging much lately. I had so many fun projects planned for this year, but unfortunately my persisting health issues have thwarted them all. I felt nauseous and dizzy on my birthday last week, so unfortunately I had to cancel dinner. Of course, in the face of what's happening around the world my problems seem somewhat insignificant, although I do believe the current collective negativity is having a detrimental effect on my recovery, because I am so susceptible to lower energies! I have been diligently cleansing my chakras and have delved deeper into healing with crystal energy (more on that in a future post!) and I try to eat as nutritiously as possible to counteract the negative side effects of the meds. Please bear with me - hopefully I will be back to my regular blogging routine soon. After all my blog is my happy place. I love blogging :)

Open Studio Day

Hello lovelies!       Hallo, Mädels!

This was the set up for my Open Studio Day last weekend. I made sure to take the photos before people showed up, because I knew I'd be busy presenting my wares, answering questions, handing out price lists / business cards etc. The purpose of this event was to showcase the products that I offer in my online shop. Basically for locals to get acquainted with my collections and hopefully spread the word. Often seeing the items in person increases desire to purchase. Of course, there was absolutely no pressure to buy - I do most of my business online anyway - but I did sell some post cards and the rose tea towels were popular too. The table above, which is actually my sewing and crafting table, measures two meters in length (about 2.18 yards). Spacious enough to present my stationery and handmade items. To the right of this I have a cabinet full of my most popular fabrics. And at the entrance to my studio I have a tall shelf with cards sets, stickers, gift bags and other fun items. The planning of this event was exhausting (I had also prepared some little snacks), but I'm confident that it was worth the effort in the long run.

Hier seht ihr das Set-Up für meinen Tag der Offenen Tür am vergangenen Wochenende. Ich habe rechtzeitig daran gedacht Fotos zu machen, da ich wusste, dass ich später keine Zeit mehr dazu hätte, vor allem wenn ich den Besuchern meine Waren präsentiere, Fragen beantworte sowie Preislisten / Visitenkarten verteile. Dies war eine Kennenlern-Aktion meiner Kollektionen für potentielle Kunden aus meiner Umgebung - die es dann hoffentlich weitersagen :) Natürlich gab es absolut keinen Druck zu kaufen - ich mache sowieso meinen Hauptumsatz online - dennoch habe ich einige Postkarten verkauft und die Geschirrtücher waren recht beliebt. Der Tisch oben im Bild ist eigentlich mein Näh- und Handarbeitstisch (zwei Meter lang), den ich für dieses Event zweckentfremdet habe. Also groß genug, um meine Papeterie und handgefertigte Sachen zu präsentieren. Auf der rechten Seite im Raum steht ein großer Schrank mit den beliebtesten Stoffkollektionen. Und am Eingang zu meinem Studio steht ein hohes Regal mit Kartensets, Aufklebern, Geschenktüten und meine handgefertigten Wäschebeutel. Die Planung dieser Veranstaltung war anstrengend (ich hatte zudem kleine Häppchen vorbereitet), aber ich bin zuversichtlich, dass es die Mühe wert war und auf lange Sicht gelohnt hat.
