Hello and happy Monday + happy first of August! I'm still enthralled by last week's trip to the colorful rose garden. The only color I have never seen in real life is the very rare black rose which only blooms in small numbers in the village of Halfeti, Turkey. Interesting fact: this special rose first blossoms in a very dark shade of red and then fades to black as the summer progresses. Intriguing!

Hallo Mädels! Ich bin immer noch von der Vielfalt der Rosenarten und den Farben des Rosengartens begeistert. Die einzigste Farbe die ich noch nie gesehen habe ist die seltene schwarze Rose. Diese blüht nämlich ausschließlich in einem kleinen Dorf namens Halfeti in der Türkei. Das Interessante: beim Aufblühen erscheint sie zunächst Dunkelrot und verwandelt sich zum Ende des Sommers in Schwarz. Schönen Montag!

Some flower shops spray regular roses black, but it's not the same... ;-)
