Vorfreude...

...means pleasant anticipation.
I've been happily admiring the Christmas decor on other people's blogs! I'm later than usual at bringing on the Christmas cheer this year plus I haven't written a single card yet. The other day I finally got out my boxes containing all manner of Christmassy stuff. I'm sticking with traditional colours this year as well. I just love red, white and green with a sprinkling of gold!

Apart from Christmas we have St. Nicholas Day coming up on the 6th of December. I like to keep some candy bags ready for little guests. These cute DIY bags can be downloaded from Serena's fabulous Farm Chicks site. They are so easy to make and look really festive!

Wirklich ganz einfach!

We're thinking about getting a fake tree this year. Only a little one that can be placed on the sideboard. We never have a real tree, because we share our home with cats. We think it's too dangerous as they would either try to climb it or chew it (poisonous for cats). Most likely the tree would come crashing down at some point...
Anyway, I've made some decorative heart ornaments to hang on the tree if we ever find one. If not they look equally pretty hung in the kitchen, on a doorknob or dangling from a gift. You can purchase a set of three in my Etsy shop!

Kein Weihnachten ohne Herzen!

I totally love this snow globe. The bottom part is a music box and I wish you could hear the sweet music (silent night)! This is one of my favourite decorations. The Santa and Snowman look so cheerful and always put a smile on my face :)

So what about you? Are you ready for Christmas yet? I hope my post got you in the mood at least!!

Ganz liebe Grüße an dich, du Liebe....
    Kim

  10. Wunderschöne Bilder, liebe Duni!! ♥

    Christel

  13. What lovely heart ornaments! We've never done a real tree either because of the mess the needles make. We have a tabletop tree over by our piano and it's so easy. Definitely recommend it!

  21. I am not even close to being ready for Christmas. I haven't gotten out my decorations yet but hopefully this weekend. Yours all look great and I love the snow globe

  22. Nope, not ready for Christmas here! We did get a tree last night but it's still naked. It's a real one and no kitty has every climbed or eaten it yet. They love to lay under it though! I love your heart ornaments!

  23. Your treat bags are too cute! We always did fairly well with real trees and cats growing up, but it can really depend on the cats.

I haven't written a single card yet either, which is extremely unusual for me. I may not get around to that until right before Christmas this year.

  24. Oh man...I'm soooo behind. I have not begun yet...and I really dread dragging out all that stuff! I have my cards made, but no signatures. No trees (I have two) up yet and certainly no decorations. Sigh.

  25. Aw, your snowglobe is great (you know I love snowmen!). :) And so are the treat bags. We've almost never had trouble with our cats and trees, but for the past few years we've had artificial trees... mainly because they're just not so messy and care-free.

I'm interested on your celebration of St. Nicholas' Day. It's something new to me. Hopefully, please blog about it :)

Lastly, I would love to see your tree. It will surely be uniquely beautiful that will have that famous touch of pink, flowers, very Duni!

You always have such beautiful ideas - love the hearts and the treat bags!

  30. What lovely decor! We don't really ever decorate, for any holiday. I guess it's just laziness: we usually travel anyway, so wouldn't be home to enjoy it. I keep saying we will once we have kids!

  31. Hi Duni,
The candy bags are so sweet (no pun intended)! Having a real tree with cats around sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. I do not set one up for that very reason! The fake trees can be so life like these days. I remember the artificial one my parents put up every year when I was growing up. It could not have looked any more fake! Your hearts will be so pretty on a tree. Happy decorating!!!

  35. Hallo Duni! Wow those little sacks for St. Nicks day are so sweet! We are getting excited for Thursday over here at the Hausfrau Haushold...my husband's family is British and we are hosting Christmas dinner this year so my next task is to figure out how to make Christmas crackers!! Let me know if you know how, by any chance!
