Regular readers of this blog will know I design and sew professionally for my "Peridot" line. But sometimes it is refreshing to challenge oneself to try a new technique. As a member of the BBA Team I was happy to learn that the challenge for January by Deb @storybeader was doing just that! I know I'm a day late - sorry ;-)
I wanted to create a nostalgic medallion necklace so I searched online for suitable findings. For someone who has never made a necklace before that proved to be a challenge in itself! I finally found the elements I wanted and luckily they were all in "antique finish", so once they arrived I set about assembling my pieces. Of course, being a fabric junkie I added a tiny piece of fabric to the center of the medallion and covered it with a clear cabochon. It is a very simple necklace, but I'm pleased the way it turned out!

Regelmäßige Leser meines Blogs wissen, dass ich für meine "Peridot" Linie professionell nähe. Aber hin und wieder kribbelt es mir in den Fingern etwas Neues (Kreatives) auszuprobieren. Als Mitglied des BBA Teams erfuhr ich, dass genau das die Challenge für Januar war (ja, ich weiß ich bin ein Tag zu spät). Ins Leben gerufen hat dies Teammitglied Deb @storybeader. Ich hatte schon eine Vorstellung wie die Kette auszusehen hat. Nostalgisch nämlich. Dies ist meine erste Kette überhaupt und es war nicht ganz einfach die Einzelteile zu finden! Ich wollte das Ganze im "Antik Look" haben. Mittig habe ich das Medallion mit einem winzigen Stückchen Stoff beklebt und mit einem klaren Cabochon abgedichtet. Ich finde die Kette ganz hübsch und bin recht zufrieden für den ersten Versuch!

du brauchst jetzt aber nicht nur "recht zufrieden" sein - die Kette ist zauberhaft geworden und ich finde überhaupt nicht, dass sie nach einem ersten Versuch ausschaut. Ganz im Gegenteil!
Besonders süß finde ich ja auch das Schleifchen weiter oben ;o)

Das Medallion ist wirklich wundervoll geworden! Ich persönlich habe noch nie Stoff zwischen Fassung und Glascabochon gemacht, aber das ist eindeutig auch eine wirklich schöne Idee. Vor allem für solch hübsche nostalgische Schmuckstücke wie deins. :)
