Bread & Butter Pudding - No Raisins :)

When it's rainy, windy and generally "icky" outside...I need comfort food that reminds me of my childhood. This is such an easy dish that only requires a few staple ingredients and is very satisfying. Mine hasn't got any raisins in it because I simply don't like them!

Preheat oven to 180°C.
Cut bread into 10 - 12 thick slices. Spread slices with butter and place in a buttered ovenproof dish. In a bowl mix eggs, cream, milk, sugar and cinnamon well. Pour mixture over bread and soak for about 10 minutes. Place dish in oven and bake for about half an hour.
In a small pan warm up your choice of marmalade (I used apricot-raspberry). Remove pudding from oven and glaze the top with the marmalde. Serve immediately.

Ofen auf 180°C vorheizen.
Weißbrot in 10 - 12 dicke Scheiben schneiden.

So yummy! I hadn't tried bread pudding until a few years ago, now I order it whenever I can! Would make a tasty treat at home :)

We share the same behavior Duni. I also crave for my comfort food in those cold rainy days or whenever I'm stressed out with work. It's also raining so bad here in Manila.

You again amazed me with your magazine spread worthy pictures Duni. Have a great day!

The deli in the store where I work used to make a bread pudding. I always thought it looked rather disgusting until I tried it one day :)

This looks delicious Duni! Gluten free bread has such a hearty flavor. I wonder if it will work as a bread pudding. Something to try!
