Sunday Spotlight: Giftforever

Today's interview guest is husband-and-wife team Koula and Kostas from Greece, owners of Giftforever.
As a child Kostas assisted a jewelry artisan who was his dad's friend. He gained knowledge of the trade early on and later decided to pursue studies in jewelry making. Koula became interested in jewelry making when she met her husband, who at the time owned his own craft business working mainly with wholesalers.
Together they decided to create their own line of whimsical jewelry for the young at heart.

Over the years they have acquired new methods of craftsmanship and materials. They continuously keep abreast of new trends in the trade. Working mainly with gold, silver and precious stones they have evolved their craft to include more affordable pieces made from sterling silver, copper, bronze, enamel, glass and semi-precious stones. This enables them to create a far bigger range and thus far they are extremely happy with the results!

Their biggest accomplishment was opening up their own shop and studio in Kallithea, Athens a few years ago. Taking into account the financial hardships Greece has suffered in the past couple of years, this is indeed a huge success for Koula and Kostas.
The economic crisis is far from over, of course, and it remains a daily challenge for this duo to meet their sales goals. Their special offers help attract new customers and boost sales.
Koula's advice for others in the handmade business is first and foremost love what you do. Plus cultivate patience - people need to get to know you and your work first before they feel comfortable buying from you. Educate yourself about new methods and materials in your chosen craft. Everyday something new happens and it is a chance to learn. Don't be afraid to experiment. If you love what you do people will recognize that and support you.

Thank you so much for this interview, Koula!

Herzlichen Dank für das Interview, Koula!
