My favorite piece of clothing this winter has got to be my red plaid shirt. Not only is red a power color that adds instant cheer to a grey winter's day, it's also super versatile - it can be layered, worn open with a basic Tee, worn buttoned up with a blazer or tucked inside a skirt like a blouse! I was going to show you an actual outfit post, but alas, four weeks of being ill does not make for a pretty face. I am getting better though, finally. Below are my two favorite ways of styling a plaid shirt.
1. Casual style
Layered with a basic white Tshirt, top two buttons unbuttoned, underneath a sweater is the version that I wear most. It's comfortable, so it's great for work, yet still looks pulled together. I can always lose the sweater if I feel too warm (which I rarely do!).
2. Chic style
Have you ever considered combining a plaid with lace? This outfit has an edgy vibe that I love! The shirt looks best buttoned up and tucked inside the skirt. Add some fun accessories, like a vegan quilted bag, chunky necklace and headband!
Do you own a plaid shirt? Btw, the plaid shirt shown above is way over my budget - mine is from Uniqlo, which I got for a reasonable price, and which is just as soft and comfortable :)
