business meeting earlier this month? Well, actually that was the culmination of countless telephone conversations and emails...and I'm happy to announce that I've found a new fabric supplier that specializes in small prints - dots, ginghams, stripes and hearts in a variety of colours - particularly suitable for the nursery!

Vor zwei Wochen hatte ich einen wichtigen
Geschäftstermin. Eigentlich war dies der krönende Abschluß unzähliger Telefonate und Emails. Ich habe einen neuen Stofflieferanten gefunden, der sich auf Kleingemustertes spezialisiert - Püncktchen, Vichy, Streifen und Herzen in verschiedenen Farben - so niedlich und besonders für das Babyzimmer geeignet!

Dear friends of mine welcomed their first child, a sweet baby girl into this world! At the same time I received the first bolts of my fabric order. Some of this new fabric inspired me
to sew a pair of baby slippers :) You might remember I made a pair for
a baby boy last year.

Liebe Freunde von mir haben ein süßes Baby - ein Mädchen - bekommen! Zufällig sind auch die ersten Stoffballen zu diesem Zeitpunkt eingetroffen. So wie letztes Jahr für einen
neugeborenen Jungen habe ich auch dieses Mal winzige Babyschuhe aus zwei dieser hübschen neuen Stoffe genäht :)

No matter how frugally I buy fabric - inevitably there will always be some of it left over. In fact, I have a large box full of scraps that are too small to make up into a purse, but too large to just throw away. And I so hate throwing fabric away. I'm sure every seamstress out there has one of these 'scrap boxes' at the bottom of their cupboard just waiting to be made up into something nice, if not useful. I finally got round to attacking mine on a rainy weekend...I made a small patchwork cushion and baby quilt from a bunch of scraps all in the same or similar shade of rose-pink. This will make a suitable newborn baby present. So who's the lucky baby?
