No sooner have we all recovered from the Christmas holidays the next (unofficial) holiday is upon us. Valentine's day is less than a month away! I'm sure my US readers will agree, that it is common practice to send cards to loved ones. Well I took this a step further and created a little accordion-style book with little messages and love notes on each page.

Kaum haben wir uns alle von Weihnachten erholt kommt schon das nächste (obgleich inoffizielle) Fest auf uns zu. In weniger als einem Monat ist Valentinstag! In den USA ist es eine gängige Praxis zu diesem Anlass hübsche Karten zu verschicken - und nicht nur an den Liebsten/die Liebste, sondern auch an andere Familienmitglieder, besonders die Enkelkinder. Nun, ich habe diese Idee aufgegriffen und erweitert. Entstanden ist ein Leporello, gefüllt mit netten Sprüchen und bunten Kärtchen rund um die Liebe.
For this project you'll need to buy a small blank accordion-style book and a few snap cards - check out your local scrapbook store or go online. I got both for about $8,-. The size of the book shouldn't be larger than 5.5 x 5.5 inches.
Then check your stash of craft supplies: small pieces of left-over scrapbook paper, ribbons, trims, buttons, heart shaped die-cuts etc. Spread it all out on the table like I did (see left photo) and decide which (or all) you want to use!
You also need a pair of scissors and double-sided sticky tape.

Für dieses Projekt benötigt Ihr ein kleines Leporello (ca. 13,5 x 13,5 cm) und Snap Cards. Diese bekommt man im Scrapbook-Laden/Bastelladen oder im Internet. Ich habe beides für ca. €6,- bekommen.Dann schaut mal was Eure Bastelkiste so hergibt: z.B. kleine Stück Scrapbookpapier, Bänder, Kordeln, Knöpfe, herzförmige Tags usw. Am besten breitet Ihr alles auf dem Tisch aus und überlegt welches (oder alles) Ihr davon verwenden möchtet!
Außerdem braucht Ihr noch eine Papierschere und doppelseitiges Klebeband.

The first thing I did was to cut two lengths of ribbon and attach these with tape to the front and back cover. Next, I added textured red paper to the front and back cover, cut to size. Simply stick it on with the double sided tape. I added a snap card with a bright red heart on the front panel. Then I got creative with the individual pages. You can make a collage, paint, stamp - do anything you like! Here are a few of my ideas to get you started.

Als erstes habe ich zwei Bänder auf beide Deckel an der Kante mittig mit einem kleinen Stückchen Klebeband befestigt und dann die Buchdeckel vollständig mit rotem Büttenpapier - auf die Größe des Deckels zurechtgeschnitten - mit Hilfe von kleinen Klebebandstreifen abgedeckt. Auf das vordere Panel habe ich dann noch eine besonders schöne Snap Card mit rotem Herz aufgeklebt.Die einzelnen Seiten könnt Ihr gestalten wie Ihr möchtet ~ eine Collage machen, bestempeln, Sticker reinkleben, kleine Notizen schreiben - je nach Lust und Laune! Hier zeige ich einige Beispiele.
