Mother's Day gift guide

Mother's Day is coming up on Sunday, 14th May. When my Mom was still with us I always looked forward to this day. For us it was more a mother-daughter day and I used to plan a whole itinerary for us on this day. I would always treat my Mom for coffee and cake at a nice café and gift her something I knew she would love. This was followed by window shopping and / or a leisurely stroll through the park depending on the weather. Good times!

In honor of Mother's Day I have put together a small gift guide for those who are still looking for ideas :)

Am 14. Mai ist Muttertag. Als meine Mutter noch lebte habe ich mich immer sehr auf diesen Tag gefreut! Für uns war es immer ein Mutter-Tochter-Tag. Meine Mami habe ich jedes Jahr in ein nettes Café ausgeführt und ihr eine Kleinigkeit geschenkt. Danach sind wir immer Schaufensterbummeln gegangen und haben je nach Wetterlage noch eine Runde im Park gedreht. Es war immer ein herrlicher Tag!

Zu Ehren des Muttertags habe ich hier ein paar Geschenkideen zusammengestellt. Vielleicht ist ja etwas für eure Mutter dabei :)

Mauve Mist

Mauve Mist - a very pale shade of lavender - is another one of Pantone's Fall 2014 colours. Although I tend to associate this colour more with Spring, I can see how it would work for this season combined with the other Pantone colours such as sangria or cognac (think brown boots with mauve tunic). I don't own any clothing in this colour as it tends to give me a washed out look, but I wouldn't mind owning bedding or that wild rose candle! What's your take on mauve?

Mauve Mist (nein, nicht im Sinne von Haufen) ist ein pastelliger Lavendelton - eines der Pantone Herbstfarben 2014. Obwohl ich bei dieser Farbe eher an Frühling denke, kann ich mir vorstellen, dass wenn man die Farbe mit Sangria oder Cognac kombiniert ein herbstliches Outfit entsteht (z.B. braune Boots mit Tunika in Malve). Ich besitze keine Bekleidung in dieser Farbe, da sie mich blass aussehen lässt, dennoch hätte ich nichts gegen Bettwäsche oder die Duftkerze! Wie findet Ihr diese Farbe?

Rainy Day Outfit

It seems the rain that we usually have in April over here has decided to make a late appearance! My jacket of choice on rainy days is my practical green waterproof parka similar to the one shown below. It's got a hood as well as plently of pockets inside and out, which I love! I usually combine it with something bright and cheerful...a colourful scarf, cheery tote and I wouldn't mind owning a pair of pink rainboots like the ones below :)
How about you? Do you wear special waterproof clothing on rainy days or are you one of those people who make a mad dash to your car with a newspaper over your head?

Obwohl ich in einer Gegend wohne die bekannt ist für viel Regen blieb der April vorwiegend trocken. Aber die letzten Tage schüttete es wie aus Eimern! Zum Glück besitze ich seit mehreren Jahren meinen geliebten wasserdichten Parka (so ähnlich wie unten abgebildet), der für Regentage perfekt geeignet ist - mit Kapuze und vielen Taschen innen wie außen - das finde ich toll! Meistens trage ich noch ein bunten Schal oder Einkaufsbeutel dazu; und ich hätte nichts dagegen, im Besitz dieser pinkfarbenen Gummistiefel zu sein :)
Und Ihr? Habt Ihr spezielle "Regenklamotten" oder gehört Ihr zu denjenigen, die mit einer Zeitung überm Kopf hastig von Haustür zu Auto rennen?
