Hi everyone!
I failed to post about the Postcard Art Exhibit at the time the exhibit was held, due to it coinciding with me falling ill and subsequently being hospitalized. In fact, I made the deadline just in time and there is a fun instragram reel where my entry happens to be the 600th one 😄
The Postcard Art Exhibit is an annual, international showcase of hundreds of postcard-sized original artworks created by artists around the world. The event sponsors a different charity each year. This year's exhibit was held in the Netherlands in support of people living with Alzheimers and other forms of dementia.
The showcase was curated by Dutch artist Tessa Maagdenberg. My contribution is called "Spring Awakening", a mixed media piece in my signature style with lots of layers and featuring a cute bird. The artwork at the top of this post is my official catalog entry. In the picture below my postcard is displayed amongst many others on one of the exhibition walls.

Hi dear Duni, I made a special post on my blog on Friday about the comments issue...it seems that I was not alone! Many, many people had the issue.

wie schön, nach längerer Zeit wieder von dir zu lesen. Und dann gleich mit einem so besonderen Projekt!
Deine Postkarte „Frühlingserwachen“ gefällt mir sehr. Sie trägt ganz deutlich deine Handschrift, und der kleine Vogel ist einfach bezaubernd. Zwischen all den vielen Arbeiten an der Ausstellungswand würde ich wahrscheinlich eine ganze Weile auf Entdeckungsreise gehen.
Besonders schön finde ich die Idee, dass so viele Künstler aus aller Welt mit ihren kleinen Kunstwerken gemeinsam eine gute Sache unterstützen. Dass es in diesem Jahr Menschen mit Alzheimer und anderen Formen von Demenz zugutekommt, macht die Ausstellung noch einmal besonders wertvoll.
Und dann war dein Beitrag auch noch Nummer 600! Wie schön, dass du es trotz deiner damaligen Erkrankung gerade noch rechtzeitig geschafft hast.
Ich hoffe sehr, dass es dir inzwischen wieder gut geht, und freue mich, wieder etwas von dir zu lesen.
