Garnet, the birthstone for January, signifies eternal friendship, endurance and trust. This lovely rich colour is a current favourite of mine this winter. Enjoy and happy Monday!

Granat, der Geburtsstein für Januar, wird mit Eigenschaften wie Freundschaft, Ausdauer und Vertrauen in Verbindung gebracht. Die satte Farbe gefällt mir in dieser Saison besonders gut, gern mit Grau kombiniert. Ich wünsche Euch allen einen guten Wochenstart!

Pantone Fashion Color Report ~ Spring 2016

According to the official Pantone Fashion Color Report, colors this Spring season "transport us to a happier, sunnier place"...

Well, Green Flash certainly brings back memories of a screaming green sweater I owned about fifteen years ago! Imagine combining the vivid Buttercup, Fiesta and Green Flash. Kind of reminds me of carnival. However, I certainly love the neutral quality of Lilac Gray and Iced Coffee. Thankfully there's a fresh aqua and a solid blue, as these are always sought after in fabric collections. As you probably know I love pastels. So, of course I appreciate the soft and soothing shades of Rose Quartz and Serenity. Incidentally, these were chosen as the Pantone 2016 color(s) of the year - yay!

Laut dem offiziellen Pantone Fashion Color Report "transportieren uns die neuen Frühjahrsfarben zu einem glücklicheren, sonnigeren Ort" ...
Wie auch immer, Green Flash erinnert mich automatisch an den Pullover, den ich mal vor rund fünfzehn Jahren getragen habe ;) Die Kombination von leuchtendem Gelb, Korallenrot und Grassgrün erinnert dann allerdings stark an Karneval! Sehr schön finde ich die neutralen Töne Lilac Gray und Iced Coffee. Toll finde ich, dass es wieder ein frisches Aqua und Royalblau gibt, da bei Stoffkollektionen diese Farben besonders gefragt sind. Meine Favoriten sind natürlich die wunderschön pastelligen Töne Rose Quartz und Serenity welche von Pantone dieses Jahr zu den ausnahmsweise zwei Farben des Jahres 2016 gekürt wurden!

Monday Moodboard

Hello and happy new year! I'm back after one of the longest blog breaks I've ever taken. Being offline gave me the opportunity to regroup, heal and, of course, make realistic plans for 2016. In the past I've been overzealous when it came to my businesses and I tended to do too many things at once - leaving me frazzle-brained at the end of the day. This year I will focus more on my fabric shoppe and start afresh with Priya, my Yoga collection, which I had planned to launch last year. I will probably close my Etsy Photography shop as I've barely sold any prints, however, since I've been selling consistently on Society6,  I'll keep that store up and running. The fate of my shabby chic Etsy shop depends on orders / sales within the next six months. Another thing I've decided on is to cut back on social media. You'll most likely find me on Instagram and Pinterest, but rarely on Facebook. I will continue tweeting about Etsy, small business and animal rights on a regular basis. On Duni's Studio I will continue posting the ever popular Etsy moodboards on Mondays. Also, I'm excited to develop and implement new DIY ideas. I'll be writing about trends in the design and fashion world and take you on virtual weekend trips. Plus I'll be throwing in the occasional sweet or savoury recipe! This year I want to keep things bright, light and fresh... and most of all have fun. I hope you'll join me for another year of blogging :)

Frohes, neues Jahr! Nach einer ziemlich langen Blogpause bin ich nun zurück. Mal ohne Internet zu sein hat richtig gut getan :) Ich habe die Zeit genutzt, um meine Gedanken neu zu ordnen, mich auf das Wesentliche zu besinnen und realistische Pläne für 2016 zu machen. In vergangenen Jahren war ich zugegebenermaßen übereifrig wenn's um meine Arbeit ging. Ich neigte dazu, zu viele Dinge auf einmal zu tun! Dieses Jahr schalte ich einen Gang zurück. Konzentriere mich hauptsächlich auf meinen Stoffladen und werde mit Priya, meiner Yoga Kollektion, nochmal von vorn anfangen. Meinen zweiten Etsy-Shop werde ich wohl oder übel schließen, da sich die Neuerungen rund um den Suchalgorithmus auf meinen Shop negativ ausgewirkt haben. Mein Lifestyle-Shop Society6 bleibt aber bestehen, denn dort verkaufe ich zum Glück regelmäßig über das ganze Jahr hinweg. Wie es mit  Peridot, meiner Shabby Chic Kollektion, weitergeht hängt vom Halbjahresumsatz ab. Ich designe nämlich fast nur Einzelstücke - da muss ich den Kosten- und Zeitfaktor nochmal überdenken. Außerdem habe ich entschieden weniger Zeit in die Social Media Kanäle zu investieren. Am ehesten werde ich auf Instagram und Pinterest aktiv sein, aber nur selten auf Facebook. Weiterhin werde ich regelmäßig über Etsy, Kleinunternehmen und Tierrechte twittern. Und auf Duni's Studio werde ich nach wie vor die beliebten MontagsCollagen posten. Im Übrigen freue ich mich schon neue DIY Ideen zu entwickeln und hier vorzustellen. Sicherlich werde ich wieder über Trends in der Design und Modewelt schreiben und nehme Euch gerne mit auf virtuelle Wochenendausflüge. Und gelegentlich gibt es süße oder herzhafte Rezepte. Dieses Jahr habe ich mir vorgenommen die Themen ganz bewußt "leicht" zu halten. Vor allen Dingen möchte ich Spaß am Bloggen haben und mit meinen Posts Freude bereiten. Ich hoffe Ihr seid auch dieses Jahr wieder mit dabei  :)
