Easy homemade organic face mask [ green clay ]

Hello lovelies!      Hallo Mädels!

As my long-time readers probably know I'm no fan of winter for many reason, one of which is the cold dry air wreaking havoc on my skin. Coupled with the medication I'm currently on my skin has become especially dry and blotchy. High time to treat myself with a facial mask! Green clay can be used to treat all sorts of skin conditions, including acne, and is the finest of clays. It is rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium and has purifying and revitalizing properties. My home-made mask takes only a few minutes to put together plus it is all natural. I use the green clay from French company Argiletz, which is organic. This ultra-ventilated, sun-dried fine powder is 100% natural and rich in minerals.

Once you open the package store the green clay powder in an air-tight container. This particular French green clay does triple duty as not only can you make facial masks with it, you can also pour it into a hot bath and even drink it - a natural remedy! To make the mask put 2 - 3 teaspoons of green clay into a small bowl. Add mineral water little by little and stir until consistency becomes paste-like. Add 2 drops of your favorite pure essential oil. Geranium, Lavender or Rose all work well. Stir again, then apply to face evenly, but take care not to get any in your eyes. Leave on skin for 8 - 10 minutes. While the mask is "doing its thing" you may want to purify your digestive system by dissolving a teaspoon of green clay in a glass of mineral water and drinking it slowly. To take off mask gently wipe face with a damp cloth, then rinse thoroughly. Pat dry and apply light moisturizer.

I recommend applying this natural mask once every other week in the winter months. If you have  oily skin you may want to apply it more often. General advice: apply an even layer and don't leave it on for longer than 10 minutes. The clay should not feel dry and cracked. If you ever try this I'd be interested to know the results!

Happy Friday!!

  2. This looks so delightful! I love clay masks, but I haven't used one in far too long. I don't care for dry/cold weather either. I can layer on clothing, but it's so difficult to make my skin feel happy and hydrated!

  3. Winter and just busy life have wrecked havoc on my skin, too. I love mixing homemade masks with exfoliators or using exfoliating cloths to take them off for that extra skin-healing boost too :) love your green clay mask here, I hadn't heard of this one, will look into adding it to our collection ;)

  8. Hi Duni! Masks are a hit in my country, although the more popular here are the commercial and ready-to-use mask made by Korean cosmetics. There is apparently a Korean invasion in my country in terms of beauty products. If only you can share part of your winter in my always summer country. Hahah Wishing you a great week ahead!
