It's a drab Monday and it took all my willpower to get up this morning. Will this rain ever stop?
*
*
Remember the knitting dolly I wrote about? Well, during the holidays I actually got use it. Amazing how much you can get accomplished when you don't have access to the internet ;-)
Anyway, here's what I made with it. A woolfibre necklace.

It may look complicated, but trust me, it was so easy, an six-year-old could do it!

One of my goals or rather challenge for this year is to relearn how to knit. Last time I knitted was twenty years ago.
So I bought myself this book. I liked the cover and the title, but especially the subtitle that mentioned absolute beginner :) Once I'm familiar with the basics again there's plenty of inspiration on Sandy's and Willow's blogs!
I'll be starting off with a simple scarf, but with patience and lots and lots of practice I might be able to make this cardigan one day...

Jette

That's a really lovely necklace!
ReplyDeleteSo soft and feminine, very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe necklace is really pretty- love the subtle colors. Great job, Duni! :)
ReplyDeleteGetting to use the dolly ought to make knitting more fun-what a cutie! And your necklace is beautiful with the tiny roses.

It’s a Wrap Link Party at Artful Rising
I love the colors you chose for your necklace!
ReplyDeleteOh I love that knitting kitty. That looks like fun. I want to knit again too. I want to make some little blankets for the kitties that have to stay in a shelter. So I might have to get that book too. I used to knit also many moons ago.
ReplyDeleteYou probably haven't seen our Black before. There are 19 cats here so some of them don't get on the blog very often.
Hope your weather gets better.
Liebe Duni

Duni, that necklace is adorable! It will be fun to watch your progress with the knitting. Learning to knit is on my list along with about 50 other things I want to learn!
ReplyDeleteIt's a gray drab Monday here and I'm just not motivated today!
I hope that your Monday gets brighter! I love your knitting dolly and necklace. Good luck with your knitting endeavors!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that it was easy! I've been meaning to tackle some knitting and crochet projects too; It's been a few years since I made anything and I might have to reteach myself some skills. That cardigan is awesome! You should definitely make it when you feel confident.
ReplyDeleteThat doll did that? Wow! I didn't know that's what they were for!
ReplyDeletethat knitting doll is the cutest thing i've seen! make me want to leaner how to knit! :)i hope you can check out my blog for some +vibes and inspiration! I am also hosting a giveaway :) xo
ReplyDeleteHi, I love your necklace, what a great idea. I bought one of those dolly knit things last year from a market here, but I haven't used it yet. I've taken some nice pictures of it, but yet to post them. I love your scrunchies on your previous post too. I passed some in a shop today, and thought once again I should make myself one, or maybe two or more. Now I can take the hard work out of it and refer to your post, thanks.
ReplyDeleteYes there has been a lot of rain hasn't there, and greyness too.
I love that necklace. I have a spool knitter but mine makes a much thicker tube.
ReplyDeleteKitting was something I never could get the hang of. I don't know why.
I LOVE to knit, but the yarn is just so darn expensive. And I don't want to use the cheap kind. :( I used to have this fabulous knit shop on my way home from work, but it has since closed. I'm not sure if that is good or bad--at least I'm not blowing my paycheck there anymore!
ReplyDeleteI love your necklace. That dolly ROCKS at knitting!
Love the necklace! The little knitting doll is adorable. You are so right, the computer is the biggest time sucker I've ever had. I think tomorrow I'm going to turn it off so I can get some stuff done.
Markus
I love that pretty necklace! How sweet! And the knitting dolly is adorable! It is amazing what can be accomplished without internet access!Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe necklace is beautiful. It does look complicated to knit! I love the flower details.
