I don't know about you, but I love receiving and writing letters. I mean real letters, the paper kind. I know that most people email, "tweet" or "facebook" these days, which I think is fine, but it doesn't hurt to write a personal note every now and then. It's a small gesture that signifies to the receiver you're special; I chose this card/note specially for you, and I sat down, thought of you and smiled while writing my message to you. But maybe I'm just old-fashioned like that!
Anyway, those who know me know I love stationery! I was delightfully surprised when I received a package containing this adorable notecard set from a friend. Those in the know will recognize it's from Cath Kidston. It's hard to come by anthing CK here in Germany. Big, happy smile on my face now :)

Früher als es noch keine Emails, Twitter oder Facebook gab konnte ich stundenlang in einem Schreibwarenhandel verbringen, die vielen schönen Papiere und Karten bewundern, immer hin-und-hergerissen, welches der Papiersets ich nun mit nach Hause nehmen wollte...mit Blümchen? Ton-in-Ton? Liniert oder doch lieber blanko? Hach, es war eine herrliche Zeit. Und vielleicht bin ich ja etwas altmodisch, aber ich liebe es immer noch, das Briefeschreiben ~ bekommen tue ich sie (die Briefe) natürlich auch sehr gerne :)
Letztens kam ein Päckchen von einer lieben Freundin für mich an, die meinen Geschmack sehr gut kennt...ein wirklich süßes Papierset von Cath Kidston! Was habe ich mich gefreut, wo doch CK hier so schwer zu bekommen ist. Zumindest hier in meiner Gegend. Draussen ist es grau und es regnet, aber beim Anblick dieser schönen Papiere strahle ich trotzdem :)

Those note cards really are nice. I just got some myself with cats on them. A friend of mine makes them too.

ReplyDeleteI love stationery, handwritten notes and letters and Cath Kidston too. Unfortunately only the first two things are what I can experience. Cath Kidston is very expensive and not available in my country ;-) Oh and I must say Duni that you really keep posting great pictures. I love them.

I love written notes as well. Note cards and stationery is so much more personal as well as beautiful.

ReplyDeletebitte, da nicht für! ;-) Aber bei den Holländern ist ja weihnachtlich schon etwas mehr los, als bei uns, da sie den Nikolaustag größer feiern als Weihnachten.
Ich selbst schreibe, und bekomme, auch super gerne Briefe und / oder Karten.
Das finde ich auch garnicht altmodisch.
Eine Email ist zackzack geschrieben, und für liebe Menschen sollte man sich ab und zu Zeit für ein handgeschriebenes Wort nehmen.

Meine Güte Duni, wir haben wirklich viel gemeinsam! Ich hatte früher auch eine große Kollektion von wunderschönem romantischen Briefpapier! Und in unserem gut sortierten Schreibwarenladen um die Ecke war ich mehrmals in der Woche zu Besuch. :) Da gab es zusätzlich noch so schöne Kleinigkeiten, wie z.B. duftende Stifte in verschiedenen Farben, etc. :) Ich bin mir sicher, dass Du das auch mochtest. Dein neues Briefpapier sieht so hübsch aus und Du weißt ja, dass ich auch die Polka dots liebe! Wie lieb von Deiner Freundin, dass sie so nett an Dich denkt!

I love notecards and hand-written notes! I don't think many people send those anymore. :( It's a shame that we don't do more of that.

ReplyDeleteOh, I love stationery too. One of the things I loved about living as an ex-pat was that everyone including me was so faithful at writing. Now I find that I don't write hand written letters as often as I should.

Wirklich süß die Kärtchen! Ich habe schon als Kind fast nur e-mails geschrieben. In der Schule bekommt man aber manchmal süße Briefchen von den Schülern mit wenig Text aber viel Bild. =)
