Friday Favorites [ Hearts in Nature ]

It is hard to escape negative headlines these days. The recent political developments have me concerned about what this means for the environment. As long time readers know I'm fiercely protective of nature and animals. I believe it is our duty to protect the planet we live on and not take the air that we breathe and the water we drink for granted.

When the last tree has been cut down, the last fish caught, the last river poisoned, only then will we realize that one cannot eat money ~ Native American saying

It is, of course, quite human to fear what we cannot control. I certainly don't like feeling helpless! But there is something that we can do: tranform fear into love. I know that many feel this is too simplistic or perhapt difficult. But it is actually a simple shift of our own intent and perspective.
By understanding that we can’t control everything or anything but ourselves, that in itself becomes our strength. Each of us has the ability to influence the world, see the beauty in life and spread faith through our attitudes and actions. It is worth a try to embrace love instead of fear. Mother Nature teaches us about love all the time.

Mother Nature is always speaking. She speaks in a language understood within the peaceful mind of the sincere observer ~ Radhanath Swami

  11. Beautiful post Duni. I am baffled by those who say Global Warming does not exist when it is a scientific fact. This is our second winter in a row with barely any snow. I have lived in the same region my entire life and we always used to get sizeable snow storms each year. It is a huge concern for me too.

  12. Our environment is, and has been, in danger beyond who is in political office. Nobody is going to stop the changes because it is a global effort and there will always be those who harm the environment regardless of that knowledge. Look at the diminishing rain forests...I suppose they blame Trump for that too.

    1. That is true, yet the current US government has made matters worse by supporting the massive Keystone pipeline - a ticking timebomb - for short term profit. Sad.
