Reading room progress

Hi there!

the transformation from our old dining room into the new, improved reading room is almost complete. In stark contrast to my usual fabric choices for my shop our home is kept mostly in neutrals.

Near the door is a cupboard which we've turned into a bookcase. There's still some space left for more books :)

Opposite the couch a cupboard that holds all sorts of bric-a-brac and possibly more books...

The couch takes up most of the space. Sorry for the darkness - it's been raining for a couple of days now. I've put that old occasional table there for the time being. That needs to be replace by a round wooden one, if and when we find one. Sammy looks tiny on the couch, doesn't he? Now we all know he's huge, so the shot I took of him is misleading. We still need to find a nice carpet for the couch area, reading lamps and some decorative pieces, which I will probably source from Etsy. I like the way the room feels now.

wishing everyone a lovely day!

Lovely in neutrals. Your home looks peaceful. I tend to go overboard with color.

It looks very comfy! And Sammy looks big--he takes almost a whole cushion!

Oh, it's so neat and tidy! I like that look--it is very calming. Apparently the cat thinks so too. ;)

It looks beautiful, I am so jealous (but in a good way, lol).

I’ve always promised myself a reading room, but life just keeps getting in the way!

Hello Duni! I love the use of neutrals in your house. I usually prefer houses with white and other neutral colors as base point then later on play with furniture and pieces with colors. You really love flowers, I can see two beautiful long stemmed flowers on the pictures. Are they fresh flowers? I might be again fooled like your mannequins. Hahaha! Have a great day!

I'd take a reading room over a dining room any day! I'm very envious of that bookcase.

It looks great! I can't believe that you have extra space for books. All of our shelves are overflowing haha.

I love what you did with the place Duni. And that bookcase is really pretty. I have been planning on doing a little interior redecorating. I wanted to redecorate my bedroom or the family library, but I just haven't found the time to do so.

It looks fantastic. I like the neutral colors. The best part about them is that you can add a splash of color here and there and easily change it if you want to. It looks like a very comfy spot to sit with a good book.

I love what you've done with the room! Neutrals are very relaxing (particularly when you work with an array of colors!) and your furniture choices are sweeet!

Good luck finding a table for the sitting area and here's to a great weekend!
