Knit Trends 2011/12

At the trade fair two weeks ago there was a mini fashion show highlighting trends for the winter 2011/12 season. I wanted to film the whole thing, but there was too much activity around me and people were jostling for a better view. I was outnumbered by the Italian contingent. lol.
The two main colour themes were - a palette of luxurious beiges/browns/stones/caramels and the other reminding me of those fluorescent marker pens - bright fuchsia, apple green and orange! Patterns were large scale and three-dimensional. There were some unusual crocheted pieces that looked like spider webs, knitted ruffles and fluffy scarves with tassels! I tried uploading a video, but Blogger wouldn't let me :(

Have a great day!

  2. Hello Duni! I saw this picture in your FB fan page. I like knitted pieces just like what was worn by the two models in beige. But as you can see, I live in a tropical country. So it's very rare that I can wear knitted pieces.

I love the scarves too. But then again, same reason.. Hahaha It would look awkward to wear them here.

The trade show you have attended is quite unique. This is my first time to see a trade show with a fashion show. In my country, trade shows are usually accompanied by seminars, mini programs and some raffle draws.

Have a great weekend! Happy Easter my friend !

  5. I've never been one to follow the latest trend. It seems it takes me forever to warm up to a style and by the time I do it's no longer in fashion...lol

  6. That picture captures the action of the runway very well...no need for a video anyway!

Glad to hear you had fun (and I bet those spider-web looking scarves were neat!).

    Have a great weekend, hun!

  8. We are just putting our sweaters away---do they really have to start showing next year's sweaters already???! It's painful.

    (They are pretty though!)

  9. Very cool. Thanks for sharing the latest trends coming our way this fall. The colors are ones I have tried to incorporate more into my knitting this year anyways. I like the knitted ruffles look and the fluffy the better in my book.

  11. Hey, thanks for the heads up for winter fashions! I'm not so sure about the neon colors, though!
