The 'lady in red' fashion bag

You may have noticed that I try to keep my product photos light and bright on my blog, but try as I might this new bag just wouldn't look good with a white background - which is strange, because it worked for the red clutch I made a while ago. Hm.
In the end I just threw a piece of black cloth over a chair and took this photo. The colour of the main fabric is now much more true to what it looks like rather than the orange-y it came out before. Apart from the background and lighting, I find it is quite difficult to photograph bigger bags. I'd prefer to do it outside, but it's been raining for days!

You're right, red on a black background is more dramatic, very fitting for this beautiful bag :)

I wish I was closer, Duni, because that bag is gorgeous- that deep red is one of my very favorite colors. Beautiful! :)

(by the way, re: your comment at my blog- I don't think I knew any twins growing up! And I didn't even realize their hair was red until my younger daughter came in and put her hair next to them- "They've got my hair!" :))

urgh - I don' care for photo'ing larger bags either :P And I have had a red fabric similar to that color...and found the same problem...so I say we blame it all on the fabric! never us, nope, never us :P

Great bag, I love the style and color. The dark background gives it a richer look and feel.

Lovely fashionable bag! There was probably too much light bouncing around on the white background which made it look orange. The black background absorbs some of the light.

I hear ya. It's a struggle to try and set up a system that works for all so you can have consistent photos. Larger items just don't work like that sometimes. I really do like the way this photo turned out- the dark background changes the tone of the work- can make it appeal to a different kind of audience.
